Bassano del Grappa
Bassano del Grappa lies in the heart of the
Veneto region of Italy, once the cradle of the renowned Venetian
Republic. Regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in all of
Italy, memories of your visit will stay with you for a lifetime.
Bassano del Grappa is most famous for it's unique old wooden
pontoon bridge that spans the river Brenta. Dating back to 1569,
the bridge is revered by the Italian alpine soldiers that flock to
the village to remember and sing songs. Bassano's other great
'landmark' is its Grappa liquer, a fragrant grape-based pomace
brandy that is served as a 'digestivo' or after-dinner drink.
You'll enjoy excursions to both romantic Venice and beautiful
Verona, two of the most picturesque and historic cities in Northern
Italy. Who could possibly resist a gondola ride down the grand
canal?
