Italian Riviera - Riviera of Flowers
Known as the Riviera del Fiori - or Riviera of
Flowers - the Italian Riviera shares the climate, beauty, charm and
sophistication of the neighbouring French Riviera but with Italian
twist. Beautiful mountains clad with olive groves and vineyards
slope down to an azure seas, a drive along the coast reveals
hilltop medieval towns and cliffs that drop down to colourful
fishing villages. The mild climate makes the Italian Riviera ideal
for visits in the early spring and late autumn. Situated just an
hour and a half drive from Nice, Diano Marina is a beautiful resort
on this stunning coastline. Its wide promenade runs the full length
of the bay with plenty of cafes and shops to explore. At the
eastern end of the town is Cervo, a pretty little hilltop village,
typical of so many in this area, with narrow cobbled streets, a
beautiful church and an olive oil press.
