Brimming with iconic sights and an astonishing cultural scene, it’s no surprise that Liverpool was voted European Capital of Culture in 2008. Culture and the arts have always been important to the city, starting from its musical impact to its world class architecture and art collections. It has more listed buildings than any city outside London, and is a bright, cosmopolitan city. As a city, Liverpool is diverse, energetic and exciting.
In 2018, a unique blockbuster exhibition comes to Liverpool from China, when World Museum welcomes the Terracotta Warriors from February – October 2018. This must-see exhibition is certain to be popular so if it’s one you are considering for your group please contact us now to register your interest.
Day 1 – We depart our selected pick up points and make our way to Liverpool. Upon arrival our luggage is taken to our room while we enjoy a welcome tea/coffee followed by the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2 – Today we meet our local guide for a 2 hour guided coach tour around Liverpool, showcasing all the sights of this famous city. Following this we arrive at Pier Head for a ferry cruise on the famous River Mersey. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore and enjoy. With so many museums we are spoilt for choice, or maybe visit one of the many Beatles attractions or simply enjoy the fabulous shopping, the choice is endless!
Day 3 – With beautiful Chester so close we head south across the Mersey for a guided tour of this historic city. Lying on the River Dee close to the border of Wales it is famous for its medieval buildings and is one of the best preserved walled cities in the British Isles. After our guided tour there is time for us to enjoy Chester at our own pace before returning to Liverpool via Port Sunlight the village that William Heskethg Lever created for his Sunlight Soap factory workers in 1888.
Note: We can request a step on guide at Port Sunlight should you require, at an additional cost.
Day 4 – Today we sadly check out and say goodbye to Liverpool as we begin our journey home, with appropriate en-route stops.
