The mild and temperate climate provides the perfect conditions for the luscious vegetation, reminiscent of the Mediterranean coast. Based at the 4 star Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, you’ll get to explore this beautiful part of the world in all-inclusive comfort. Located on the shores of the lake with beautiful landscaped gardens and stunning views across the majestic lake waters, your stay is sure to be a memorable one!
Our flight departs selected UK airports for our flight to Italy. Upon arrival we are met by our guide and transferred to our hotel for the next 5 nights.
This morning we’ll visit the splendid neoclassical Villa and gorgeous gardens of the nearby Villa Carlotta. This magnificent property covers an area of over 70,000 square metres. There are numerous art masterpieces inside the villa as well as a splendid garden which we can admire at leisure. There will be free time in the lakeside resort of Menaggio which offers a variety of bars, shops and restaurants and boasts a delightful lakeside location.
Today we’ll visit majestic Lake Maggiore, Italy’s second largest lake and spend time in the elegant resort of Stresa. Lined with beautiful flowers and trees, the lakeside promenade compliments this aristocratic setting and overlooks the unique Borromean Islands which we will visit during our a boat trip with a guide, stopping at the Isola Bella with entrance to the Palace and gardens, followed by a stop at the nearby relaxed Isola Pescatore, Fishermans Island. A leisurely afternoon stroll and cappuccino in the quaint resort of Stresa completes a perfect day before we return to our hotel.
We’ll enjoy a day at leisure today to take a boat over to Bellagio, the ‘jewel’ of Lake Como, with its unique location perched on a verdant headland with views abounding from all angles. We could spend time exploring the lovely historic centre of Bellagio itself, with cafés, bars and shops strewn along a myriad of quaint alleyways and inviting piazzas. We can admire the superb lake views during your return boat journey on what must be Italy’s most scenic and dramatic lake.
Today we’ll enjoy a relaxing day over the Swiss border and the stylish city of Lugano, nestled around its large lake. Lugano is a lively city with plenty of shopping opportunities and there is also a wide variety of restaurants and places to eat, some of which have lovely lakeside settings. We’ll enjoy some free time here before making the relatively short journey back to Como for our last night in Lake Como.
Today we say farewell to the beautiful lake as we board our coach and travel back to the airport for our flight back to the UK.
