Jersey

Channel Islands

Small but perfectly formed

Sunny Jersey may be small but with its miles of stunning coastline, lively capital of St Helier and pretty attractions dotted across the island, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Winding country lanes and clifftop views abound on this naturally beautiful isle, the largest of the Channel Islands with a diverse terrain, yet you are never more than 10 minutes away from the sea. The island’s position between England and France means that it has a fascinating history and unique Jèrriais heritage that distinguishes it from mainland Britain; it also has a fantastic gourmet scene thanks to its mouthwatering local produce.

Full Day Island Tour

La-Corbière-Lighthouse- -Danny-Evans

Get a feel for the whole island in one day, taking in Jersey’s highlights. This guided tour takes in the vast swathes of golden sands found in the bays of St. Aubin’s, St. Brelade’s and St. Ouen’s; the iconic Corbière Lighthouse, jutting out into the ocean on its rocky causeway; the fascinating Grève de Lecq barracks, the island’s historic defence point against invasion; and the idyllic village of Gorey Harbour, a jumble of pastel-coloured houses overlooked by a medieval fortress.

St Helier

Compact and lively, St Helier is Jersey's capital and the only true town on the island. Home to a great variety of restaurants and shops as well as a selection of museums and galleries, it makes the perfect base from which to explore the island.

Alternatives

Jersey War Tunnels

Excavated deep into the hills, the tunnels were constructed during the German occupation of the island in WWII, and form an intricate underground network that is over 1,000 metres long. The tunnels were built using slave labour, and their function was to protect the German infantry against air raids. The tunnels were converted into an emergency hospital in 1943.

La Mare Wine Estate

La Mare is nestled in the beautiful Jersey countryside, and the estate comprises historic buildings surrounded by lovely gardens, orchards and extensive vineyards. More than just a winemakers, La Mare creates an array of delicious Jersey produce including preserves, chocolate and biscuits, as well as distilling its own cider, ale, apple brandy and gin.
