Overview

With breath-taking and dramatic scenery this region offers fantastic scenic days with stunning backdrops and is the most charming getaway. Located in north-eastern Italy, the Dolomites provide easy access to the likes of the beautiful and vibrant spa city of Merano, shimmering Lake Garda and the Adige Valley’s famous wine route. The whole area is a paradise for nature lovers with rolling hills, picturesque lakes and idyllic scenery that provides a truly memorable experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Depart the UK. On arrival in Italy we will be met by a local representative who will direct us to our coach and accompany us to our hotel in Fai della Paganella. Welcome drink on arrival at the hotel.

Day 2 – After breakfast we will be met by a local guide for a full day excursion to Merano. Merano has a Mediterranean atmosphere and a genuine alpine landscape. It is a place where town and country interact and is generally best known for its spa resorts. This afternoon we’ll visit Lago di Caldaro which is situated on the wine route surrounded by vineyards and the sweetest vines, so our next stop will be a local Cantina where we will enjoy sampling wines of the region before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 – Today we’ll enjoy a guided scenic tour of the Dolomites. Starting at Ora and ascending to the lovely Val di Fassa we have spectacular views from the Passo Pordoi. We will stop for lunch (not included) where there is breath-taking scenery in every direction. We are still in Italy but with it has a strong Austrian feel to it. We’ll return via the Gardena Valley

Day 4 – Today we will depart, on foot, with Fausto (the hotel owner) for our “mystery day out”. A picnic lunch will be included.

Day 5 – Today will be a guided tour to Lake Garda passing Lake Molveno on the way. Lake Molveno is the largest Italian natural alpine lake, the transparency of its waters is notorious. We’ll visit two lovely and lively towns on Lake Garda – Riva del Garda and Limone. Riva has a cosmopolitan café culture with plenty of shops and elegant architecture and tree-lined streets. Limone is quaint and pretty with lemon trees everywhere!

Day 6 – After breakfast we check out of the hotel and transfer back to the airport for our flight to the UK.

Feedback

“We all loved the Paganella hotel so much – it was a definite 5 out of 5! Fausto and his family could not do enough for us, it was like being a house guest as an extended family member, rather than a paying hotel guest! The food was also excellent. Our coach driver for our excursions was excellent along with the guide Sabrina who was superb and the group loved her”  Pauline – Group Organiser – May 2015
