Lake Garda

6 days from £699 – £739 per person*

*Depending on the number of people travelling

  • Malcesine

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and is certainly one of the most charming. Nestling between the green hills and mountainous peaks you will find beaches and coves showered in fragrances and colours. For those looking for utopia, Lake Garda is as close as you’ll get.

Day 1 – We board our flight to Italy and upon arrival will greeted by a guide who will transfer us, by coach, to our hotel in Brenzone for the next five nights. We will be welcomed with a sparkling wine before dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 – Today we will travel to the south of the lake and visit Lazise, Sirmione & Desenzano. Lazise is a pretty walled village with a paved lakefront promenade and fine sandy beach. Sirmione is a stunning Roman spa town full of cobbled streets dominated by the fairy-tale castle of Rocca Scaligera. Desenzano is a trendy spot where locals flock to parade the streets, eat, drink and socialise as they soak up the atmosphere. A lunch in a traditional Italian trattoria is included today. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 – A full day at leisure for independent exploring. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 – Today we will travel to the north of the lake and visit Malcesine, Limone & Riva. Malcesine has to be one of the prettiest towns on Lake Garda and the walk up to the castle will reward you with magnificent views of the lake and its towns. Limone is idyllically  picturesque with a little harbour, lake side cafes, cobbled streets and wonderful lemon trees everywhere.   Riva Del Garda has preserved its small-town charm but is larger than both Limone and Malcesine with large squares filled with fountains, cafes, and shops. Dinner the hotel.

Day 5 – After breakfast we have an excursion to beautiful Verona. It is one of Italy’s oldest cities and world famous for its Opera Festival performed at the Roman Arena built in the historic centre. The splendid Piazza Bra is the hub of the city which is compact and easy to get around in on foot as much of it is pedestrianized. The city is host to the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and we can take a walk to the infamous balcony. There is a daily market in Piazza delle Erbe. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 – Sadly, today we check out of our hotel and return to the airport for our flight back to the UK.

The exact order of excursions may be subject to change.
