Portugal is so much more than the resorts and golf courses of the Algarve. In the north of the country, away from the package-holidays, you’ll find a destination of rugged coastline and dramatic mountain scenery, of vineyards and fine food, historic cities and hilltop villages. Hidden Portugal, as it has come to be known, remains largely untouched by mass tourism and offers a warm welcome and a rich and colourful culture.
