Here at the Success Tours office we tucked in to a few pancakes (okay, a lot of pancakes) on Shrove Tuesday. Expertly cooked by Steve Hornby, Head Chef and CEO of our parent company The Albatross Group, the indulgence was all in the name of charity.
Fuelling us for an afternoon of hard work, Steve managed to rustle up some delightful flavour combinations with flamboyant garnishes amidst heated debates on the merits of sweet pancakes vs. savoury, folding vs. rolling, the classic lemon-and-sugar vs. nutella, and the eternal question: how many pancakes is too many? With artful dollops of ricotta, sprinklings of icing sugar, and carefully arranged raspberries, he definitely scored a 10 out of 10 for presentation.
Proceeds from our pancake purchases have gone to the Claire Foster Memorial Fund. The Claire Foster Memorial Fund was launched by The Albatross Group in April 2009, and since then the employees and friends of the Group have raised over £50,000 which has been donated to a variety of charities and good causes.
